At South Bend, the Irish of Norte Dame make a great debut beating their Hoosier rival, Purdue, 26 to 14. Two sophomores, Terry Hanratty and James Patrick "Jim" Seymour, team up in a great passing combination for three touchdowns. Final: Irish 26, Boilermakers 14.
