NO AUDIO In Holland, the pole-jumping National Championships bring out the best in this unique event. Unlike typical pole vaulting, contestants make a running start, take a flying leap over a ditch filled with water and grab onto a stationary pole in an attempt to make a dry landing on the opposite side. MS A crowd of people sitting on bleachers watching people take to the pole and jump to the other side without landing in the water below. A contestant runs towards the pole and gets hung up in the middle of the pond and ends up in the water. CUS enthusiastic spectators laugh and smile at the male contestant's failure in clearing the pond. A woman attempts to clear the pond on the pole and she makes it over. WS Spectators watching the events clapping. Another male contestant attempts the jump. He runs, leaps and grabs the pole before making a climbing maneuver and falls into the water with a splash. CUS crowds laughing and clapping in cheerful applause. A guy takes on the jump and lands not so gracefully on the shore. Medium LS Two more contestants take their chances at the pole and both land in the water with a splash.
