Queen Elizabeth opens Parliament, announcing that the House of Lords will lose its hereditary basis, an ancient tradition. She hopes for settlements in Vietnam and the Middle East, also. Four large white horses pull in Irish State Coach containing Queen Elizabeth II, Philip Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Phillip and Princess Ann. The coach pulls into a courtyard of Parliament. A herd of ornately decorated horses escorts the coach down a street lined with bystanders. A big pomp-and-circumstance thing.
