Newest things at the International Inventors Exhibition in Brussels includes a folding desk to foil a robber, a cord-less electronic telephone, anti-seasick boat seats, a tiny hand sized sewing machine, and a table that breaks apart into mini tables. At the inventors convention a robber is foiled when a desk locks itself to prevent burglary. High Angle shot a new look for the telephone. It's big, chucky with electronic lighting and cordless. Anti seasick chairs are shown. CU tiny handheld sewing machine. You can operate it with your thumb. An occasion table is shaped like a flower. You just unscrew the top and remove the sections of the table to create individual side tables. They are good for any occassion.
Electric Car Inovations
In the Senate Garage on Capitol Hill, Congressmen check-out a group of electric automobiles. Battery-powered, silent, and free of gasoline exhaust fumes, the electric car is seen as the car of the future to help anti-pollution drives in the city. Beef Trust of Vaudeville Days
Would-be chorus girls, all over 200 pounds each audition for an upcoming show about the famous "Beef Trust" gals of Vaudeville days. They go through some dancing routines. Camera pans a line of chorus girls and they are extremely overweight, but they look happy. CU a Toledo weight scale. The arrow points to 281 LBS. CU the woman who s being weighed looks surprised but she s happy and smiling. The slender choreographer gives instructions to the chorus girls. Only six of the overweight cuties were selected to recreate the famed "Billy Watson's Beef Trust of Vaudeville Days" staring Barbra Streisand and Jason Robards.

Top French couturiers show their new summer fashions including an Arab-type trousered evening dress by Lanvin, a Dior dress and coat of sacking trimmed in leather, and a long evening beach dress by Pierre Cardin. Eye-filling...and wallet emptying! Three models, the first one has a two piece gabardine blended suit, double breasted with a picture frame hat. What starts as "Spring Fever," develops into a massive and dangerous snowball fight on the campus of Dartmouth College in New Hampshire. Championship Ski Jumping
At Vikersund, Norway, Austria's Rheinhold Bachler sets a new world ski-flying record on his first try. He soars 154 meters, more than 12 feet further than the old record. Stiff winds bothered him not at all! The ski jump at Vikersund, Norway. The first jumper jumps 134 meters. You can see the spectators standing on the side of the jump. Vietnam: 1st Cavalry Division Clashes With VC Force
U.S. First Cavalry troops clash with North Vietnamese regulars on the central coastal plain of South Vietnam, near Bong Son. Heavy automatic weapons and sniper fire pin down our men. "Big E's " Homecoming: Carrier Returns From Vietnam Duty
The world's mightiest warship, the atomic-powered aircraft carrier Enterprise, sails into its home port, San Francisco, after eight months of battle duty off Vietnam. It s an emotional homecoming as families and friends mob the dock, greeting their heroes. Men in uniform are greeted by loved ones. Includes Caucasian and African American families. The Enterprise pulling into a San Francisco harbor. Tug boats salute the Enterprise by shooting water into the air with fire hoses. AAU Track Meet
In the AAU Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Randall's Island, New York, Ed Burke beats Harold Connolly in the hammer-throw event. Pole Vaulter Bob Seagren equals the meet record leaping 17 feet. Willie Davenport sets a new meet record in the high hurdles. Miler Jim Ryun wins over Burleson and Grelle in three minutes and fifty eight and six-tenths seconds. High Angle Wide Shot- AAU Outdoor track and field with seating around the field. Harold Connolly does a hammer throw. He spins and releases. His toss lands 219 feet away. Ed Burke is the next in line for a hammer throw and beats Connolly s throw by 1 foot. Rendezvous With Tomorrow: Historic Gemini VIII Pictures
The most dramatic adventure in Space history ends southwest of Okinawa as Astronauts Neil Armstrong and David Scott bring their Gemini Eight capsule down safely. There were three bad hours after the near disaster 185 miles above the earth. Motion pictures made from the capsule show the sighting and linkup with Agena rocket, the movies showing dramatically how space travel will be accomplished in the future. Then the violent gyrations of Agena and Gemini as the Number 8 Thruster on Gemini short circuits and the Astronauts wrestle their capsule back under control. A happy ending to what might have been a disaster. Pacific Ocean POV - Looking out the window of an Air Force military plane you see Gemini VIII floating in the water. ECU - Looks like the face of the navigator on the plane as he looks down at the water below. POV - Ocean, rubber rafts and Gemini VIII. MS - Naval recovery officers on board ship. LS - Astronauts and Navy Seals. Aerial Shot - The bow of the Mason, Gemini VIII and rubber raft in the water. Outer Space Films made by cameras on board Gemini VIII - Site of the Agena Rocket in space, 85 miles above the earth. MS - The Agena Rocket turning. MS - Command pilot Armstrong moves Gemini slowly towards the docking collar of the Agena Rocket. As the lights disappear that is the actual docking taking place. For a half hour both crafts held steady. Astronauts told the ground that everything was very stable and then the No 8 thruster acts up. Oscillation sets in - shaking the Gemini. Armstrong wrestles the Gemini free and the Gemini starts spinning. It took the Astronauts a full 30 minutes to gain control.
Hull Scores 53rd Goal of Season
Bobby Hull scores his 53rd goal of the season for Chicago Blackhawks. "Hull keeps adding to his season scoring record as he puts his 53rd score on ice in a game against the Detroit Red Wings. Championship Auto Race
The Trenton Speedway is the scene of the first tune-up in the east, pointing toward the famous Indianapolis "500" on Memorial Day. Only 102 miles of a scheduled 150 mile race are run after a steady drizzle develops into heavy rain and the officials declare the track dangerous. Mario Andretti, after leading the entire race, has to make a pit stop and in that time loses the lead....and the checkered flag....to Roger Ward. Final check for all the race cars as mechanics and drivers checking out the motors and wheels. High Angle Shot - A No. #1 race car and the driver is Mario Andretti sitting down in his car. And their off, speed and endurance is the key in this race. A group of young guys sit in a tree watching the race. Andretti in car no. #1 leads in much of the race as he pulls into the pit, car no. #24 takes over the lead. The racing cars get the checker flag as the race ends due to rain. Roger Ward wins the race getting the checkered flag and Roger's wife is the first to congratulate him giving him a quick kiss. Roger Ward driving for Firestone sits with a big smile and a trophy.
