Heavy Combat: Snipers Take Toll Of Gi's
In rice paddies near Bong Son Airbase, American GI's chase and finally route a force of Vietcong troops. It's a rugged battle, fought tree to tree, with grenades and sniper fire pinning U.S. Forces down. Victory comes with one American dead, four others wounded and countless Viet Cong causalities. American G.I. soldiers in combat. The bottom half (from the waist down- legs) running, holding his rifle. The camera pans up on the soldier running, full body, as he falls on his stomach in a shallow fox hole. Solders running under fire carrying their rifles. Some soldiers run from behind a bush. In London, ladies spring and summer hats are shown by designer Simone Mirman. Among the highligts are flower helmets, maximum-brims, flower hats, matching collar ensembles and gigantic flower-petal toppers. Say the critics, "Sporty, feminine, gay!" Two models wear funky hats. One has daisy pigtails with a matching straw skirt and the other model is wearing a wedding veil that is made of thin strips of linen or silk fabrics. CU Model is wearing a large pedal flower hat; it could be made of a silk charmouse fabric. CU Model is wearing large flowers sewn together forming a hat and flowing into a scarf or collar. Model weas a picture frame hat with a floral design and then the camera cuts away to a model wearing a spiral raffia. This hat reminds me of a giant pretzel; it's braided and twisted.
Track Championships
At the NCAA Track Championships in Detroit, Dave Patrick of Villanova sets a new world board track half-mile record of one minute, forty-eight and nine-tenths seconds beating Jim Ryun by twelve yards. Ryun wins in Mile in three minutes, fifty-eight and six-tenths seconds. This is his fourth under four minutes mile this year. Dave Patrick of Villanova is leading Jim Ryun in the NCAA championship. Patrick keeps pouring it on holding on to the first place. He sets a new world record of 1 minute 48 & 9/10th seconds. Ryun finished some 12 yards behind Dave Patrick of Villanova Flats. Rugby Fight Between Two Medical Schools
Rival Medical Schools in London battle it out in their annual rugby football game. Each year, this event involves even the spectators, as sacks of flour are thrown and high power firehoses are used. Final score: one injured, one pub wrecked! This doesn't look like a real riot. Its staged for playtime only. A girl is holding a cylinder and another girl runs up and knocks it out of her arms. In spite of the fun their having, some still do manage to get hurt. A group of students carry away another student. CU A young girl is laying on the ground with blood on the front of her sweater. CU Sex For The Cup 68 sign. High Angle shot rugby players have plaid shirts on playing against guys with dark shirts on. (Looks like good exercise with all that running, The ball they toss around looks more like a basketball rather than a rugby ball.) The guys in the dark shirts are running and tossing the ball around to each other on the field. Meanwhile the guys in the plaid shirts keep up with them trying to get the ball.

North American Alpine Skiing Championship
French skiers dominate the North American Alpine Championships on Cannon Mountain in Franconia Notch State Park, New Hampshire. Jean-Claude Killy takes both the downhill and the slalom while Jimmy Huega finishes a close second in the slalom. American girls finish near the top. The North American Alpine Skiing Championships are on their way. Skiers compete in the slalom. A skier navigates his way down the course. Another skier on his way down loses his balance and down he falls. No 15 does a good job of skiing around the poles when he suddenly loses his balance and footing. He falls to the ground face first. CU sports fans watching the skiing competition despite the brutal weather. CU #114 Jimmie Heuga as he makes an excellent run down the mountain. Jean-Claude Killy #10 wins the men's division. He is one fast skier. Heuga comes in second place. Women compete in the downhill skiing race.
